A successful installation is dependent on a wide variety of SAM’s services. Pre-installation preparation, consultancy and training along with hardware, network and telecommunications requirements are all planned and co-ordinated in order to deliver and meet your expectations. A new software system represents one of the most dramatic and potentially stressful changes that can be undertaken in any business. Required activities include training and implementation of new processes, converting data from old systems and re-engineering of hardware and networks.
The pressures on clients during this phase include:
-maintaining high levels of customer service while staff are in training
-operating normally during the Preparation and Go Live stages
-unexpected issues for staff to resolve
-fear of change and confidence issues amongst staff
-exposure to new unfamiliar technology
Attention to the effects of change is imperative and a well-prepared business which has addressed management of change will benefit many-fold from the time invested in this process.
SAM works closely with every customer, providing support from start to finish. Our experienced consultants have implemented literally thousands of systems and are experts at guiding new users through their daily routines and processes during the initial, unfamiliar stages. Ultimately, we are here to deliver the benefits and efficiencies which drove the original decision to implement one of our software systems.
2. We Work With You
As part of the business analysis phase, one of our consultants will generally carry out a site audit in advance of the implementation. Depending on the particular software package being installed, this audit may be completed without a physical visit in some cases. At this point, the implementation process will be reviewed with required resources identified, any necessary customisation agreed on and the Go Live date confirmed.
3. Using Internationally Recognised “Best Practice” Project Standards
Both our implementation delivery and our support management have been developed using the best internationally recognised standards and we maintain current qualifications in these methodologies within our existing staff at all times. Developed by the UK government, Prince2 is a leading international methodology designed to ensure projects of all types are completed successfully. Our implementation processes follow Prince2 structures closely – even on smaller installations.

The leading international computing methodology for support services is Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). We also maintain current qualifications in this important I.T. methodology and use it to develop and manage all of our support services from installation to training to after-sale support.
ITIL has been summarised as “the world’s best I.T. practices and processes wrapped into a comprehensive methodology”.
We further emphasise our commitment by providing each site with a Service Level Agreement (SLA) and no-one is expected to sign off their implementation until they are completely happy with every aspect of the system and our delivery.
4. Our Strength is Customising to Your Operation
Our total New Zealand user base of 6000+ encompasses a wide range of motor and transport industry market segments – and we aren’t in the business of forcing a one-size-fits-all system on our users.
All our software is hugely flexible and scalable and we always try to get as close as possible to a 100% fit for each individual client.
An example of our customisation of each system is that we are the only software supplier in our market with the ability to routinely convert and import historical invoice and transaction histories from your old system into our databases. This means installing one of our systems is usually a clean break and there is often no need to keep old systems running (and costing) for “look up” purposes.
Our commitment to ongoing client delivery doesn’t stop when the implementation is completed. We continue to offer software changes and customisation as part of our ongoing software support service.
