SAM's first international implementation of the Orion dealer management system has been successfully completed in Brisbane, Australia, with satellite locations in Orange (New Zouth Wales) and Kalgoorlie (Western Australia).
The customer, Major Drilling, is the world's second largest drilling and mining organisation and is based in Canada.
Following on the success of this installation, two further sales have been made with these projects both due to commence in January 2008.
Planning for extensive sales and marketing activity in Australia and South East Asia is now well underway and the prospects look very good for a successful "Export 2008".
Company Manager, Darryn Crothall says that while SAM already has several Australian-based clients using SAM or Orion, these are all either branches of New Zealand operations or expatriates who report that they cannot find anything to compare in the Australian market and have therefore taken their software system with them. "This represents our first active international marketing activity", says Crothall.
